HOW DO I SEE A BREAST CARE NURSE?

Melbourne Breast and Endocrine Surgeons employ two highly experienced breast care nurses - Christine Gray and Meg McDonald

Christine or Meg will generally see or call all MBES breast cancer patients both before and after surgery, and at other times as required

WHAT IS THE ROLE OF A BREAST CARE NURSE?

Provide support and information to women with breast cancer

Link women in with appropriate support networks within the medical and wider communities

Help coordinate care within the multidisciplinary team

Care for men with breast cancer
WHAT CAN MBES BREAST NURSES, CHRISTINE AND MEG, DO FOR ME?

Answer questions

Give you emotional support

Provide written information and internet/web direction regarding your condition

Help with informing family

Provide specific information about breast reconstruction and/or breast prostheses

Visit you in hospital

Organise post hospital support as required
